A Big Imagination

Audrey's vocabulary is quite large. She can easily hold a conversation and tell you exactly what she wants (or more likely, doesn't want). One of her favorite things these days is reading us stories. Here is one she loves to repeat, although this was the original reading.

She also loves taking care of babies and does so all the time. She will be a great big sister.

Rock-a-Bye Baby

Another one of her other favorite things, is referring to me as Tracie. 

Audrey: 'Are you Tracie, mommy?'
Me: 'Yes, what's Daddy's name?'
Audrey: 'Hon'
or...
Audrey: 'Let's go home and see Tracie, Daddy'

She loves telling you what she is or is not doing. 

'I'm not jumping on the stairs'...as she's hopping down one foot at a time.
'I'm just drawing on the paper, not the table'...as her marker moves towards the table.

She is stubborn and challenges us daily, but she keeps us laughing and learning!

A Visit with Santa

Last year we missed Santa, so this year we decided to go as early as possible. Couldn't believe there was no line (may have been the 20 degree weather keeping people at home) and although we didn't have any tears...we didn't have any smiles either. She does claim she loves Santa, she's just a little shy.

Much more relaxed at lunch.

Thankful

A great Thanksgiving with friends started with baking an apple pie, a nap with Sark and fun walk in the snow.

Sleeping Buddies

Audrey loves to have someone to cuddle with while sleeping...we never know who we'll find her with when we go check on her before bed.

Thanks Grandpa for the creepy monkey - those eyes in the dark have scared me more than once.

First Haircut

It took until 2 1/2 but it was finally time to get a little trim (a few weeks ago). Audrey has the finest hair and the cut (which was a little shorter than I imagined) makes it look thicker and is easier to just comb and go. She loves showing it off.

Minnie Monday

It's a Monday. She just received a new dress from Ya Ya. Had to be worn, of course. 

Also, somehow she knows when you are in a pretty, fluffy dress that you twirl. Adorable.

A Cowgirl and Mermaid Halloween

When I asked Audrey 'What do you want to be for Halloween?", I fully expected her usual smile and 'Yeah.' response. (Meaning I have no idea how to respond to that question). But instead she very confidently said 'a mermaid' and she stuck to that idea for months. It wasn't easy finding a toddler mermaid costume, but I finally found one online on Zulily...although it was iffy if it was actually going to arrive in time. So for her school halloween party the week before, sans Mermaid costume, we had to improvise with some things we had in the closet. She made quite the adorable cowgirl as well!

The purse was all her idea of course.

She thought it was funny watching dad clean the pumpkin. 

But wanted nothing to do with it herself.

Instead she enjoyed running and emptying the bowl into the garbage.

Took her awhile to get the hang of picking the candy.

Quite overwhelmed with all the people at the Boulder Munchkin Masquerade. 

The costume was 'too scratchy' so we had to find a shirt for underneath.
