5 YEARS OLD!

5 YEARS OLD!? How did that happen. Our little baby girl has turned into quite the lovely little girl. She is full of spunk, giving plenty of attitude - but also has the biggest heart, very aware of those around her and how they feel. Whenever she thinks I'm crying...hitting my knee on the door or cutting an onion, she stops and almost starts to cry herself until she understands I am ok. She will do the same with her brother, as long as she is not the one to make him cry by taking something he wants or pushing his buttons which is happening more and more now that D is understanding how to push HER buttons.

She is definitely coming into her own...gaining confidence at school (everyone still wants to be her best friend) and is very opinionated about her attire (mostly dresses) as well as mine (Mom, that is why I DON'T like jeans - when they stick out like that around your ankle.)

She still loves pink, ice-cream, swimming, dancing, games (especially when she makes up all the rules), playing mom/teacher, traveling to play with her cousins and making deals. She dislikes jeans, going to bed and being told no.

Luckily she still loves her mom, dad and brother. And we love her more than words can say.

The Monster is 2

This little one keeps us on our toes.
He's quite demanding, always telling us where to be, what to do ('Coat off, Mommy!') and what he is going to do.
He is still a little cuddle bug and quite a lover. He loves to copy everything his sister does and says.
His favorite show/music is 'Mama Shark...dodododododo, Daddy Shark...dododododododo'
He loves to dance and sing.
He can kind of count to ten. '1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10!'
He knows all his animals and colors and loves to jump...off anything and into any arms there are.
He loves stroller rides and bike rides and just being outside. But the poor boy takes after mom and is cold all the time.
He's VERY particular about what he wears ('no jeans!') and how things feel ('too tight, mommy!').
He loves to accessorize - 'shoes, hat, coat, hood!'
He quite dramatic in all aspects - happiness (WOW!), running (elbows flying), and tantrums (rolling on the floor, banging the head).
However, he's quite shy around new people...With a small group singing HBD, he turned in his chair, and sucked his lower lip against his trusted wrist (his signature move when he's tired or embarrassed)
HOORAY - We have now had two weeks of healthy boy and full nights sleep. We are all in much better states of mind!
He keeps us laughing and is cute as a button.

Some Del Speak:
Del, Do you want some breakfast? Do you want a treat?
'Yes, he DOES!'

Trying to do something himself, but needs help.
'Help you, mommy?'

Telling him No for anything...'Go AWAY mommy'

Del don't climb on the couch or Don't bite your sister...'Oh, Fine!'

'Mommy Are?' (Where is Mommy?)

Hippopotamus!

'Monster Scary' with the saddest little look on his face. Everything is scary these days.

'Audrey Ann!' Whenever he is unhappy with her
'Sarky Ann!' Whenever he is unhappy with him

'Daddy Toot!' 'Del burp!' 'Del bum!'

'Otay' (Okay)

'Don't like that' as he's spitting out his food that is half chewed up.

My Valentine's

A Little Desert

A visit to Aunt Sandra's house to warm up was just what we needed.
Unfortunately I bring a trend of pool heater problems, so we couldn't use the pool at the house, but did spend quite a bit of time at the club house pool.
We went for golf cart rides (including thru sprinklers...), did a hike through an Oasis, and visited a beautiful zoo. We even got a visit from the Lundbergs.
The kids absolutely loved the trip and it took days for Del to stop crying when we pulled into our driveway instead of Aunt Sandra's garage. We are looking forward to planning another trip back soon!

Winter Escape - Winter Park

A fun adventure with Yaya and Aunt Jess to the YMCA camp in Winter Park.
Plenty of swimming, some sledding...although Del was not a fan, and lots of snow. Del thought the cabin was Aunt Jess's house - oh how we wish so we could visit all the time!
