Dressed By Daddy

Audrey and Dad come downstairs, after yet another failed nap attempt.
Dad: 'I think the dress is a little small'
Mom: 'That's because it's a shirt'
But she rocked it...all day!

Pumpkins Galore

We decided to skip the visit to the pumpkin patch on the 75 degree Saturday afternoon, because I decided it should feel more like fall when picking out a pumpkin. Well, we got fall...and lots of rain on Sunday morning. Lesson learned.

Perfect Timing...worst weather we've had in weeks
Not too sure about this wet stuff
Not moving any further...
So we waited it out
Round 2 - a little more into it

18 Months Old

18 Months

Our baby is not so much a baby anymore. At 18 months old, she is a toddler with strong opinions who definitely knows what she wants, even if sometimes she can't express it.

Favorite Things: Her favorite things are still mom or dad's 'babas' (water bottles), and iPhones, iPads or a Mac Book, especially when she finds videos of the 'baby' (her) to watch. Crawling all over mom or Sark on the floor. Singing -  Twinkle Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Patty Cake and Wheels on the Bus are some favorites to dance along to. She's even starting to 'sing' on her own, a very soft lullaby sound. Walking with a blanket over her head (which means running into everything) and wrapping the blankets around her babies to rock and sing 'baby, baaaaby'. Reading books. Playing with and throwing balls (or anything that looks like a ball). Splashing and scooping water might be one of her all time favorite things, which always turns out with a wet and cold little one requiring an mid-day outfit change.

No-Nos: She's very good at knowing what she shouldn't get into and making sure she does just that. Whether it be splashing in Sark's water dish, climbing the fireplace or stairs, she loves the 'no, no, no' and the chase that follows. She's also unfortunately into hitting, something we are working on constantly with the motto - 'No hitting, hugs only.' It's going about as well as you can imagine.

Common Words: She really has the hang of 'hi' and 'bye' (after grabbing a bag or coat and heading to the stairs). But also common in the vocabulary are: up, please, thank you, uh-oh, mommy, daddy, dog, milk (more like mo, with the sign), shhh, ya, 'no,no,no', water, bunny, banana. (She 'says' a lot more, but they all resemble one of the previously stated sounds).

Big Accomplishment: Pooping on the potty! It's only been once, but we'll take it.

She's full of kisses and loves to run and greet you with a mean bear hug. We are lucky enough to get multiple a day!

Wrestling Around

Audrey's friends Nathan and Caroline came over for dinner. She really enjoyed wrestling around acting crazy...with a dog or kid...whoever could take it!
