Parents of the year for missing the start. Kind of ruined the excitement for her first mile race...most of the race was a scowl on her face.

A Roadtrip
With a 3-year old and baby, it's always a good idea. We had a great weekend in Crested Butte seeing the colors, taking a small hike, swimming in the hotel pool, etc. Due to a virus coming on, Del didn't sleep and screamed half the way home so we came home exhausted. But what a beautiful place!

Six Months Old
Del's Six Month Stats:
Weight: 15 pounds 4 ounces (11th percentile)
Length: 27.13 inches (73rd percentile)
Head: 43 cm (40th percentile)
Head: 43 cm (40th percentile)
- Well, he's on the move! And he is busy. The crawling came about 1.5 weeks short of his 6 month mark and life just got a little more complicated. He's also in a pike/plank position a lot (raising up to his feet from his knees)...so guessing he's anxious to get walking too! Bottom line: he's not real into containment these days.
- His tongues out a lot. It takes concentration to move around and explore.
- We believe he is cutting teeth, so his hands are in his mouth a lot too.
- He's still a happy boy, but just wants to be down on the ground moving rather than held.
- Bedtime is anytime between 7-8 and he sleeps until about 6am. About 80% of the time, he then goes right back down until about 7:30.
- We've begun some solids. So far sweet potatoes, peas, banana, avacado, oatmeal, carrots. He's getting the hang of it and seems to enjoy the process.
- He loves his dog and if Sark is in sight, he's beelining it to him.
- He still loves his sister and they love to laugh together. A favorite sound is driving home from daycare with the kiddos in the back laughing the whole way home.

The Big Hike
By big, I mean we got out of the house with two kids before 10:00 and got up to a trail for a nice little 1.5 mile hike. Audrey, as you can see, was 'super' (her favorite word) excited to carry her backpack, camera and binoculars to keep an eye out for animals. She only fell twice from rocks and roots, but rebounded quickly and made about 95% of the journey before breaking down from exhaustion. Del enjoyed a nice little snooze on my back. Sark got to swim. All in all, a successful afternoon.
